In southern Vietnam's Dong Nai Province, authorities have seized nearly 17 tons of frozen meat lacking clear origin and sanitary certificates, according to a report by Vietnamese media outlet Tuoi Tre on August 1st. The operation was initiated after enforcement officers observed two truck drivers transferring frozen meat from one vehicle to another at a bus station. An inspection revealed a large quantity of animal products, including pig udders, pork, pig intestines, and eggs. Authorities stated that the drivers were unable to provide invoices, origin certificates, or animal inspection certificates for the goods. Documents seized at the scene indicated that the total weight of the seized items was nearly 17 tons, and they were intended for distribution to markets and restaurants in the region. Authorities have confiscated the goods and both vehicles, and an investigation is underway to take legal action.
