US-Cambodia Discuss Economic Cooperation and Investment Opportunities

On July 21, 2026, Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia, held a working meeting with a delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council (US-ABC), led by Mr. Brian McFeeters, President and Chief Executive Officer. Representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia also participated. During the meeting, Mr. Brian McFeeters outlined the purpose of the delegation's visit to Cambodia, which is to strengthen cooperation between the American private sector and relevant parties, as well as to seek new investment opportunities to support Cambodia's economic development. He affirmed the interest and readiness of American companies to invest in Cambodia, particularly in the areas of digital finance, human resource development, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Representatives from the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia also highly commended the role of the National Bank of Cambodia in maintaining the stability of the banking system, modernizing payment systems, and strengthening the regulatory framework. These efforts have contributed to enhancing investor confidence and creating a favorable environment for investment in Cambodia. On the occasion, H.E. Governor Chea Serey welcomed the delegation and shared her insights on the economic and banking sector situation in Cambodia. She emphasized the importance of the economic partnership between Cambodia and the United States, which is a significant export market for Cambodia. She noted that investment from the United States has contributed to job creation, skill enhancement, economic diversification, and the introduction of international standards to Cambodia.
