Thai King and Queen on State Visit to Vietnam

The King and Queen of Thailand have concluded their state visit to Vietnam, a trip aimed at further strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. On the morning of September 15, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee and President To Lam, along with his spouse, hosted an official welcome ceremony for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Phra Vajiraklaochaoyuhua and Her Majesty Queen Suthida, who were on a state visit to Vietnam from September 14–16. This state visit marks a significant event in the diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand. Both governments have expressed their intention to further enhance cooperation across various sectors, including politics, economics, and culture, leveraging this occasion. As a key member of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Vietnam is committed to promoting regional peace, stability, and economic integration. Strengthening ties with Thailand holds strategic importance for Vietnam in bolstering its regional influence. Furthermore, Thailand is a crucial trading partner for Vietnam, with deep economic connections. This visit is anticipated to foster increased investment, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges. Under Vietnam's one-party system, the highest leadership, including the President and Party General Secretary, spearheads foreign policy.
