Cambodian National Police Chief Visits Australia to Enhance Cooperation on Transnational Crime and Cybercrime

General Sar Thet, Director General of the Cambodian National Police, accompanied by a delegation, visited Australia from August 31 to September 5, 2026, at the invitation of the Australian Federal Police (AFP). The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral friendship and cooperation, particularly through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on cooperation against transnational crime and capacity building for police forces. This collaboration is intended to enhance the effectiveness of preventing and suppressing cybercrime and transnational offenses. This visit marks another crucial step in demonstrating Cambodia's strong commitment on the international stage to jointly combat cybercrime and transnational offenses more effectively. "We will work together to fight, prevent, and eliminate offenses through technological systems," the report stated.
