Vietnam and Finland to Enhance Cooperation in Science, Technology, and Economy

National Assembly Vice President Nguyen Doan Anh has proposed strengthening cooperation with Finland in various fields, including science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, and the green and circular economies. The proposal also encompasses economic, trade, and investment ties, as well as advancements in high technology, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors, 5G/6G, renewable energy, education, and high-quality human resource development. This initiative follows the official visit of the General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam to Finland, marking a new and promising chapter in bilateral relations. Finland is set to expand opportunities for Vietnamese technology experts, a move that could contribute to the upgrading of Vietnam's domestic industries and enhance its international competitiveness. Under its one-party system, Vietnam prioritizes economic growth and actively seeks foreign investment and technology transfer. In recent years, considering geopolitical risks in its relationship with China, Vietnam has been diversifying its supply chains. Strengthening ties with European nations holds strategic importance in this context. Cooperation with Finland could be a crucial step for Vietnam to expand its access to European markets and adopt advanced technologies.
