Thailand Accelerates Talent Development for Next-Gen Electronics Industry, Targeting 84,000 by 2026

The Thai Electronics and Computer Hardware Association (THECA) has announced its policy to develop 84,000 skilled personnel by 2026, in response to the expanding investment in the advanced electronics sector. This objective aligns with Thailand's national strategy to transition from its traditional industrial structure towards a more technology-intensive and high value-added electronics industry. Amidst global supply chain realignments in recent years, Thailand is striving to maintain and strengthen its position as a manufacturing hub in the ASEAN region. Sectors such as semiconductors, integrated circuit (IC) design, and advanced electronic component manufacturing hold significant potential to drive future economic growth in Thailand, making the securing of professionals in these fields an urgent priority. THECA's announcement is seen as part of concrete efforts to meet these industry demands. The talent development plan is expected to include strengthening collaboration with universities and vocational training centers, developing curricula tailored to industry needs, and inviting specialists from both domestic and international sources. Through these initiatives, Thailand aims to secure the human capital necessary for the future development of its electronics industry and enhance its international competitiveness.
