According to the statement of Dr. Khine Khine Soe, the spokesperson of the State President's Office, over 143 million kyats in food and cash assistance have been provided to more than 20,000 flood victims in Hleqmyar Township, Ayeyarwady Region, where flooding occurred due to the collapse of the Ngwun water gate, as of August 3rd. It is reported that due to the floods, 4,749 houses, 4,815 households, and 20,354 people in five wards and 51 villages were affected by the flood disaster. Currently, 11 relief camps have been opened in Hleqmyar Township, and 1,889 people from 570 households are taking shelter, it is known. It is reported that the assistance provided to the flood victims includes dried noodles, canned fish, eggs, drinking water, food supplies, and cash donations. Furthermore, it is also known that the military, Myanmar Police Force, fire brigade, General Administration Department, Red Cross units, People's Security Force, and social organizations are cooperating in the relocation and rescue operations for the flood victims, with a total of over 1,000 personnel, 34 fiber boats, 35 motorboats, and 28 motor vehicles.
