SUCs to Handle Infra Projects Over P5M Independently, Solon Says

Some state universities and colleges (SUCs) in the Philippines are moving to handle infrastructure projects worth over P5 million on their own, instead of through the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), according to party-list Rep. Karl Josef Legazpi. Legazpi highlighted this during the sponsorship and plenary deliberations in the House of Representatives. The move suggests a desire by SUCs to expedite and gain more flexibility in developing facilities crucial for their educational and research activities.
