Cambodia Launches Project to Enhance Agricultural Skills for Indigenous Women

The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries has organized a meeting to review and provide feedback on the agreement to implement the "Project to Strengthen Technology and Resources for Indigenous Women in Agriculture." This initiative is expected to significantly contribute to the agricultural sector within indigenous communities in Cambodia. The project aims to enhance the sustainability and resilience of livelihoods for small-scale farmers in indigenous communities in Ratanakiri and Stung Treng provinces by promoting modern and innovative smart agricultural technologies and environmentally friendly sustainable agricultural practices. On July 28, 2026, Yoe Asikin, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, emphasized the importance of closer cooperation between development partners and the agricultural departments in the target provinces. She also instructed the technical team to review the content of the agreement to ensure it aligns with the policy direction of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The project is designed to empower indigenous women to utilize smart agricultural technologies and adopt more sustainable and productive farming methods.
