Cambodia Continues Support for Veterans and Retirees in Banteay Meanchey

Banteay Meanchey, Cambodia – Mr. Khlouk Nuy, Deputy Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province and Vice-Chairman and Secretary-General of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of the province, emphasized that the Royal Government of Cambodia always pays high attention to the welfare and living conditions of veterans and retirees, as well as their families, ensuring that no one faces problems alone. He specifically noted that Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate and President of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association, consistently dedicates himself to helping resolve various difficulties faced by veterans and retirees by providing concrete support and protection, enabling them to feel secure and achieve better living standards. Mr. Khlouk Nuy made these remarks while representing HE Ouk Ratry, President of the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of Banteay Meanchey Province, leading a working group to present death benefits to six families of association members who had recently passed away. The ceremony took place on the afternoon of September 22, 2026, with three families residing in Mongkol Borei district and three in the city of Serei Saophoan, Banteay Meanchey province. During the occasion, Mr. Khlouk Nuy expressed his condolences to the bereaved families and stated that the provision of death benefits demonstrates the attention of the Royal Government and the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association towards its members and their families, especially during times of loss. He further elaborated that supporting veterans and retirees is not merely about assisting them during difficult times, but rather a recognition of their merits and sacrifices in the cause of defending and building the nation. Therefore, providing benefits and various forms of social protection is a part of preserving the honor and dignity of veterans and retirees. Mr. Khlouk Nuy also mentioned that the Cambodian Veterans and Retirees Association of Banteay Meanchey Province will continue to collaborate with local authorities and relevant institutions to monitor the living conditions and needs of its members in local communities, and to continue implementing policies to support and resolve their difficulties in a timely manner. For the six deceased member families, each received 4 million Riels in death benefits, totaling 24 million Riels. This provision of death benefits helps alleviate some of the burden on the bereaved families during their time of loss and serves as a testament to the continuous attention given to veterans and retirees, as well as their families, in all localities.
