Valenzuela City Hands Over 333 Housing Units to Relocated Families

PRESIDENT Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. on Tuesday led the turnover of 333 housing units at Disiplina Village Arkong Bato in Valenzuela City for families relocated from flood-prone and other high-risk areas, the Palace said. The project is part of the government’s relocation program for informal settler families, according to Presidential Communications Office. Mr. Marcos said the project, which broke ground in 2023, was a joint effort between the national and local governments and forms part of a nationwide housing program aimed at reducing the country’s housing shortfall. He said nearly 600,000 housing units had been completed from July 2022 to July 2026 under various government housing programs, including the Expanded Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program. The Valenzuela project is near schools and health facilities, allowing residents easier access to basic services. Mr. Marcos said the government would continue its housing efforts countrywide. Also on Tuesday, Mr, Marcos awarded land titles to 110 families in neighboring Caloocan City, under the Enhanced Community Mortgage Program, saying secure tenure remains a priority amid the shortage of socialized and low-cost housing. — Erika Mae P.
