The 31st Asia Securities Forum Annual General Meeting (ASF AGM 31) will be hosted in Vietnam for the first time, featuring a dedicated session under the theme “Investing in Vietnam – Rising in a New Era.” This significant event is expected to convene representatives from international financial institutions, regional securities associations, experts, and leaders of domestic Vietnamese businesses. This hosting marks a new milestone for Vietnam's stock market. Thai newspapers have highlighted this development as a new milestone for Vietnam’s stock market, emphasizing its growing potential. Nasdaq has also acknowledged the increasing potential within Vietnam's stock market, suggesting a rise in international attention. Vietnam aims to secure approximately US$205.6 billion in stock market funding for the period of 2026–2030, and the ASF AGM 31 is poised to be a crucial step towards achieving this objective. Under its one-party system, Vietnam has experienced remarkable economic growth, actively attracting foreign direct investment (FDI) in recent years to upgrade its economic structure, particularly in manufacturing. In this context, internationalizing and revitalizing the stock market is key to further economic development. While Vietnam maintains strong economic ties with China, recent trends in supply chain diversification have also led to strengthened economic relations with a variety of countries, including those in Europe, the US, and Japan. This forum presents an excellent opportunity to deepen relationships with such international investor bases.
