Cambodia to Study Upgrades for 3 National Roads in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear Provinces with World Bank Support

Cambodia is studying the improvement of three national roads, namely National Road 64, National Road 62, and National Road 9, located in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear provinces. This initiative is part of the 'Project for Improving Regional Infrastructure Connectivity in the Kingdom of Cambodia,' which receives financing from the World Bank. The project aims to enhance infrastructure connectivity and facilitate travel and transportation in the region. On September 17, Mr. Heng Non, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport and Project Director, led a working group from the Project Management Unit to inspect the three national road sections. The inspection aimed to review the progress and actual situation at the project sites. During the inspection, the team verified and assessed the real conditions on the ground concerning environmental and social impacts. This assessment is crucial for identifying solutions and ensuring the project is implemented smoothly, on time, and effectively. Through the improvement of these three national roads, it is expected to strengthen road connectivity between regions, facilitate travel and transportation, and support economic activities and development in Siem Reap and Preah Vihear provinces.
