This emulation campaign aims to boost the morale of the Coast Guard forces and further enhance their contributions to national security and the protection of maritime sovereignty. Specific activities and objectives are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. In recent years, the Vietnam Coast Guard has been engaged in a wide range of missions, including intensified crackdowns on Illegal, Unreported, and Unregulated (IUU) fishing, maritime search and rescue operations, and the detection of illegal cargo. This special campaign is expected to further promote these activities and improve the operational capabilities of the region. Vietnam possesses a long coastline and extensive maritime interests, the maintenance and protection of which are among the nation's top priorities. The role of the Coast Guard is becoming increasingly crucial, especially amidst ongoing tensions with China over sovereignty in the South China Sea (referred to as the 'East Sea' in Vietnam). The activities of this region are essential for stabilizing national governance under Vietnam's one-party system and ensuring the safety of the maritime environment that supports economic growth.
