Cambodian Education Minister Urges Students to Prepare for High School Exams, Emphasizes Safety

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports held a motivational event for 12th-grade students preparing for the High School Diploma Examination (Baccalaureate) scheduled for August 10, 2026. The event took place on August 7 at Hun Sen Khchau High School in Kang Meak District, Kampong Cham Province. The visit was made by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, Youth and Sports, Hang Chuon Naron, who also chairs the government working group for Kang Meak District. During the event, the Minister urged students to meticulously plan their studies and thoroughly review their lessons in preparation for the exams. He also emphasized the importance of health management and adequate rest. Furthermore, he stressed the need for extreme caution while driving to avoid traffic accidents, which could lead to them missing the examination. He also addressed future career choices, outlining plans to encourage students in upcoming academic years to pursue science streams. This will be facilitated through comprehensive counseling and consultation with students to guide them towards higher education and acquiring specialized skills for their future. During the ceremony, students and teachers were presented with beverages, essential supplies, and financial incentives as a form of support and encouragement for the upcoming examinations. Notably, from 2017 to 2025, a total of 481 students from Hun Sen Khchau High School received 100% scholarships for higher education from Deputy Prime Minister Hang Chuon Naron, enabling them to pursue studies at institutions such as the National University of Management, Royal University of Phnom Penh, Royal University of Law and Economics, and the Cambodia Institute of Technology. Additionally, from 2017 to 2026, a total of 2,274 12th-grade students have received lesson summaries, study materials, and financial aid from the Deputy Prime Minister. Source: AKP Khmer
