Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein, together with officials, on Sunday made a tour to inspect agriculture and livestock cooperative businesses and rural development in Meikhtila District. During the meeting with members of the Thet Thitsa Agricultural Production Cooperative Association at the briefing hall of Kyaung Yar Kan Village in Meikhtila Township, the Union Minister heard reports by officials and stated that it is necessary to connect with MSME entrepreneurs for production of value-added cotton products. He then coordinated the necessaries and observed the thriving of monsoon cotton plantations. Afterwards, the Union Minister and party inspected the progress of Yoe Kan-Kan Tha village asphalt road expansion from Meikhtila-Mandalay Main Road. The Union Minister said emphasis is needed to complete the road upgrading on time, meeting the set standard since the village road is important for the rural development and productivity. At Kabar Myint Village of Thazi Township, the Union Minister observed the milk cow breeding and milk curd production conducted by the Rural Business Fund (RBF) program. The Union Minister said the ministry is providing necessaries for breeding of quality milk cow species, stressing to boost production of value-added dairy products.
