Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Showcases 73 Years of Achievements

On August 3, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences inaugurated an exhibition space in Hanoi titled "Connecting Traditions, Stepping Firmly into the Future." This event is part of a series of exhibitions introducing the research achievements in humanities and social sciences by units under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences. This particular exhibition commemorates the academy's 73-year journey and the 47-year history of its Institute of Cultural Research. The exhibition showcases past research accomplishments and academic contributions to contemporary society. Specifically, it includes displays related to the national scientific conference "Le Quy Don, a Cultural Figure - Heritage and Contemporary Value," and the "500-Day and Night Campaign," an initiative to identify and return the remains of fallen soldiers. The exhibition also raises the theme of needing a "conductor," emphasizing the importance of collaboration and leadership in academic research. This aims to stimulate broader discussions on how the humanities and social sciences can contribute to the overall development of Vietnamese society as the country continues its economic growth. Furthermore, the event touches upon government initiatives, including the Prime Minister's directive to accelerate the search, collection, and identification of martyrs' remains. This is considered a significant policy within Vietnam's one-party system, aimed at preserving historical memory and fostering national unity. This exhibition serves as an opportunity for Vietnam's academic community to demonstrate its commitment to respecting past traditions while addressing contemporary challenges and contributing to future development.
