Vietnam Communist Party Emphasizes Cadre & Party Member 'Pioneering Spirit' and 'Innovation' for New Era

Vietnam's Communist Party has put forth important guidelines to further enhance the 'pioneering spirit,' 'exemplary conduct,' and 'innovativeness' of its cadres and party members in the new era. This initiative is based on Politburo Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW, dated August 22, 2026, and aims to foster a reform in party members' awareness and boost their proactive engagement. The policy seeks to strengthen the foundation for Vietnam to address domestic and international challenges and achieve sustained economic growth and an elevated position in the global community by improving the quality of the party organization. Particularly in the new era, party members are expected to strongly embody the spirit of 'thinking, acting, and taking responsibility.' The five key requirements emphasized by President and General Secretary To Lam will serve as directives to concretize this policy. These are understood to include enhancing the capabilities of party members, strengthening cooperation with the people, and ensuring the firm execution of the party's leadership. Furthermore, the 'Ideological Work Strategy in the New Context,' which sets specific goals up to 2030 and long-term visions beyond 2045, will be promoted concurrently. This is a crucial undertaking to evolve the party's ideology and guiding principles in line with the transformations of contemporary society, thereby clarifying the unified awareness and action guidelines for all party members. The Communist Party of Vietnam, which promotes a socialist-oriented market economy under a one-party system, considers the improvement of party members' qualifications to be a driving force for economic development and, simultaneously, crucial for maintaining social stability. Especially as Vietnam navigates its complex relationship with China and aims to expand its influence within the ASEAN region, the resilience of the party organization and the capabilities of its members are being tested.
