Bangsamoro Interim Parliament Enacts 94 Laws Since 2019

COTABATO CITY – As the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) transitions from an interim regional government to a regular parliament, the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) said it has enacted 94 laws since 2019. The BTA Media Affairs Office said Tuesday the 94 Bangsamoro Autonomy Acts (BAAs) have provided the legal framework for the governance and development of the region. The legislative accomplishments are aimed at promoting peace, stability, and sustainable development in the Bangsamoro region. The BTA, established in 2019 following the peace agreement, has been instrumental in laying the groundwork for the region's autonomy, overseeing its administrative, judicial, and legislative functions. The 94 BAAs cover various sectors, including education, health, economic development, and peace and order, and are expected to contribute to the improvement of the lives of the region's residents.
