DNDP Vice Chairman and Pig Farm Owner Killed in Ywangan

Mekong, July 15 Two individuals, U San Tint, Vice Chairman of the Danu National Democracy Party (DNDP) from Myinkyado village, Ywangan Township, Danu region, southern Shan State, and U Aung Win Sein, a pig farm owner, were abducted and subsequently killed by an unknown armed group, according to local sources. It is reported that they were abducted from Nyaungpin Khwa village on the night of July 14 and later killed. Regarding the killing of U San Tint, U Min Lwin Oo, who represented the DNDP and had previously competed in the state parliamentary election from Kalaw Township, wrote on his Facebook page, "I can only pray that U San Tint, who has been working for the Danu nationality, does not face such tragic incidents in his future lives. It is with even greater sadness and grief that I cannot provide any other effective assistance. We hereby inform you that U San Tint, Vice Chairman of the Oosii (Danu) Party (Central) in Myinkyado village, Ywangan Township, passed away in Nyaungpin Khwa village on the night of Tuesday, July 14." Local residents stated that among the two killed, U San Tint was a person who facilitated the procurement of vehicles in the village for the State Administration Council troops. After receiving warning letters from the local People's Defence Force (PDF), he had been living cautiously, but was eventually abducted and killed. "U Aung Win Sein, the pig farm owner from Myinkyado, was working under U Win Myint, the Pyu leader who was killed earlier. After U Win Myint was gone, he took over his role. However, it was not on the same large scale as what U Win Myint did. He was like a mentor to those around him. There are still others like him in that area who are collaborating with the SAC," a responsible person from the Danu State National Defence Force (DSNDA) told Mekong regarding U Aung Win Sein, who was killed. While reports suggest that a PDF group carried out this killing, no organization has claimed responsibility, nor has any group been identified. In most killing incidents in the Danu region, no organization has announced responsibility, and the perpetrators have not been identified. It is reported that in the Danu region, in Pindaya and Ywangan townships, the DSNDA, Danu 103 PDF, and DPLA revolutionary groups are fighting against the State Administration Council.
