Vietnam Reaffirms 'Pledge to the Nation' at War Invalids and Martyrs Day Event

On the evening of July 23, at the Military Radio and Television Center, the General Political Department of the Vietnam People's Army organized an artistic program titled "Pledge to the Nation - A Promise to Mother," in anticipation of the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day on July 27. The program aimed to remind every citizen that the glorious achievements Vietnam enjoys today are built upon the immense sacrifices and dedication of past generations. By incorporating themes of gratitude towards mothers, the event also paid tribute to the sacrifices and support of families. Artistic performances highlighting heroic struggles during past wars and contributions to nation-building were showcased. Attendees were deeply moved by stories of soldiers who gave their lives for the country and the families who supported them. Prime Minister Le Minh Hung also attended a national conference to honor revolutionary contributors, commending their significant contributions to the nation. The conference, attended by 310 contributors and their relatives, saw government leaders emphasize the importance of their role in national development. These events concretely demonstrate the Communist Party of Vietnam's policy of "gratitude towards those who have contributed to the nation," aiming to enhance patriotism and strengthen national unity. Under Vietnam's one-party system, such national anniversaries and commemorative events play a crucial role in unifying the populace and legitimizing the regime.
