Cambodia Discusses Investment Expansion with US-ASEAN Business Council

Cambodian Senate President Hun Sen met with Brian D. McFeeters, President of the US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC), and a delegation of American business representatives at the Senate building in Phnom Penh. The meeting aimed to further strengthen economic ties between the two countries. President Hun Sen welcomed McFeeters and the US investors to Cambodia, recalling his frequent engagements with the USABC on economic, trade, and investment matters during his tenure as Prime Minister. He noted the current upward trend in trade volume between Cambodia and the United States and expressed his hope for increased business engagement from American companies in Cambodia. McFeeters stated that the USABC comprises over 180 member companies, many of which are showing keen interest in investing in the ASEAN region, particularly in Cambodia. He highlighted the positive progress in Cambodia-US relations and expressed the private sector's desire to contribute to further strengthening these ties through investment in Cambodia. Representatives from prominent US companies such as Ford, SC Johnson, and Coca-Cola, along with other partners, participated in the discussions, exploring investment opportunities and expansion in Cambodia. President Hun Sen welcomed McFeeters' remarks on the improving bilateral relations and emphasized that economy, trade, and investment are the core of Cambodia-US ties. He expressed his anticipation of more US investors entering Cambodia and commended their investments, particularly in the transportation, medical, education, and technology sectors, which contribute to Cambodia's innovation drive.
