Indian visitors travelling to Cambodia can now enjoy a more convenient, secure, and cashless payment experience by using any Unified Payments Interface (UPI)-enabled app to pay at more than 20,000 merchants displaying LOLC KHQR across the country. UPI is India’s widely used real-time digital payment system that allows users to make instant payments through participating mobile payment applications. Whether visiting Cambodia for business, leisure or family travel, Indian travellers can make seamless digital payments at hotels, restaurants, retail shops, transportation providers and many other merchants across key destinations, including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Preah Sihanouk and other provinces throughout the Kingdom. The process is simple: visitors scan a merchant’s LOLC KHQR code using their UPI-enabled app, confirm the payment and complete the transaction instantly. This reduces the need to carry large amounts of cash or frequently exchange currency, making everyday spending easier, safer and more transparent during their stay in Cambodia. According to tourism statistics published by Cambodia’s Ministry of Tourism, more than 77,000 Indian visitors travelled to the Kingdom in 2025, reflecting Cambodia’s growing appeal as both a tourism and business destination.
