Chonburi Man Offers 8,900 Eggs After Claiming 10 Straight Lottery Wins
A man in Chonburi, Thailand, offered more than 8,900 eggs at a temple to fulfill a vow after claiming to have won the lottery 10 consecutive times. He also drew numbers for potential future lottery tips.
CHONBURI — A 44-year-old man in Chonburi offered more than 8,900 eggs at a temple on Sunday to fulfill a vow after claiming he had won lottery prizes in about 10 consecutive draws. Damrong, a resident of Si Racha district, made the offering at Wat Woraphot Sangkhawat in Bang Nang subdistrict, around noon. He brought an offering table laden with red roses, red soft drinks, drinking water, and thousands of chicken eggs. He said he had previously prayed for good fortune at an old statue of Thao Wessuwan, a guardian deity associated by many Thai worshippers with protection, prosperity, and luck. Damrong stated he first discovered the shrine while working as a driver and began winning small lottery prizes after praying there. He also volunteered to help with construction work at the temple without pay, considering it a form of merit-making. He later made another vow, promising to return with eggs, red drinks, and roses if he received a larger financial windfall. According to Damrong, he subsequently won prizes in about 10 consecutive lottery draws, including a recent larger win that prompted him to return to the temple with the substantial egg offering. After the ceremony, he tried his luck again by drawing numbered ping-pong balls, which produced the number 570. He showed the number to reporters and residents, several of whom wrote it down as a possible lottery tip for the September 16 draw. Damrong said he planned to distribute the eggs to people living in communities around the temple to help reduce household expenses. He also intends to use 570 as a guide when choosing numbers for the government lottery draw on September 16. Information Source: Khaosod English
