Vietnam's Industry Sector to Accelerate Growth with Smart Production
Vietnam's industry and trade sector is accelerating its transition to smart production as a driver of economic growth. This is a strategic imperative for sustainable development and enhanced international competitiveness in a sector that accounts for over 80% of imports and exports.
Vietnam's industry and trade sector is accelerating its transition to "smart production" as a new engine for economic growth. This sector accounts for over 80% of Vietnam's total import and export turnover and plays a leading role in the overall economy. The adoption of smart production is not merely a development trend but a strategic imperative to realize the national aspiration for rapid and sustainable growth. This initiative is expected to boost double-digit growth in Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP). Specifically, a program to select "Vietnamese Businesses Meeting Business Culture Standards" will be launched by 2026 to enhance corporate quality and culture. Furthermore, maximizing the capacity for E100 fuel (100% ethanol) supply and ensuring stable provision will enhance self-reliance in the energy sector. Other measures, such as assessing biofuel production capacity in the central region and organizing a large-scale brand product sales event in Soc Trang, are also being advanced to stimulate regional economies and promote industrial development. Under Vietnam's single-party system, economic growth is a crucial pillar supporting the legitimacy of the state. The Party consistently aims to improve the living standards of its people and enhance its international standing through economic policies. Investment in smart production is key to competing with rivals like China and maintaining or strengthening Vietnam's advantage in global supply chains. In particular, the upgrading of the manufacturing industry is anticipated to enable the production of higher value-added goods, thereby promoting a structural transformation of the economy.
