Cambodia to Develop Air Cargo Hub in Sihanoukville to Connect陆海空 Transport Networks

Cambodia has supported the plan to develop an air cargo transport hub in Sihanoukville province. This project is expected to be jointly invested by two companies: World Bridge Group, led by Mr. Sokha Rithy, and France's Société Concessionnaire des Aéroport (SCA). The hub aims to strengthen Cambodia's logistics network by connecting air and sea transport. On July 21, 2026, World Bridge Group and SCA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the development of an air cargo and logistics hub at Sihanoukville International Airport. This collaboration marks a new phase in supporting Cambodia's logistics supply chain, particularly in establishing it as a hub connecting air and sea transport. The MOU signing ceremony was presided over by Dr. Mao Havannall, Secretary of State of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation, Olivier Richard, French Ambassador to Cambodia, Mr. Sokha Rithy, Chairman of World Bridge Group, and Julien BERT, CEO of SCA. Dr. Mao Havannall emphasized that the private sector's contribution directly and effectively responds to the "Pentagonal Strategy Phase 1" of the current government administration. Specifically, this project falls under the second pillar of the Pentagonal Strategy, which aims to diversify the economy and enhance competitiveness, and the second angle focusing on improving connectivity and efficiency in the transport and logistics sectors. Dr. Havannall further stated that the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation is ready to support the development of this logistics hub by providing consultations and assistance with procedures related to civil aviation's economic and technical regulations.
