Ho Chi Minh City Boosts Grassroots Healthcare Workforce

Ho Chi Minh City is focusing on strengthening its grassroots healthcare workforce, the backbone of its public health system. On September 10, the City Department of Health reviewed a pilot program that combines hospital-based training with practical work at local health stations. This initiative aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services for residents, particularly addressing challenges in areas where access to medical resources may be limited. Ho Chi Minh City currently provides free health check-ups to nearly 2 million residents and also offers health screenings for policy beneficiaries. The city targets the completion of universal health check-ups for all citizens by December 15. Furthermore, the city organized its fourth healthcare job fair, attracting approximately 1,000 candidates and 94 recruiters. A total of 806 positions were offered, indicating a proactive approach to securing personnel for the grassroots healthcare sector. In Vietnam's one-party system, social welfare policies are considered a crucial national responsibility, and improving the healthcare system directly contributes to the stability of people's lives. For Vietnam, a country experiencing continuous economic growth, the equitable distribution of healthcare services, not only in major cities like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City but also in rural areas, is an essential element for maintaining social stability.
