PATTAYA: A factory worker and a female colleague narrowly escaped injury early Thursday after strong floodwaters swept both of their motorcycles into a canal as they tried to ride home through a flash flood after work. Mr. Ton Yo Lao, 35, an employee at a factory in Amata City Rayong industrial estate, said he and his female colleague were caught in the strong currents as they attempted to navigate their motorcycles home through the rising floodwaters. He stated that the water was moving very fast and that both of their motorcycles were swept away by the floodwaters into a nearby canal. The two individuals were able to dismount and reach safety just in time before the water could fully engulf them and their vehicles.
