Indonesia and Malaysia Explore Halal Industry Cooperation

President Prabowo Subianto revealed that Indonesia and Malaysia discussed opportunities for cooperation in the halal industry during a meeting with Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi at Hambalang, Bogor. This idea for cooperation was one of the key topics discussed, alongside Malaysia's assistance in handling forest fires in Kalimantan. "We also discussed other issues that are quite good, ideas for us to work together in the field of halal industries and others," said Prabowo. He did not elaborate further on the specific forms or sectors of halal industry cooperation discussed. Prabowo emphasized that the relationship between Indonesia and Malaysia is in good condition and urged that issues arising between the two countries should not be exaggerated. "Indonesia and Malaysia are brothers. We have to work together. We have to maintain a very good relationship," he stated. The meeting is seen as part of efforts to strengthen economic and cultural ties between the two nations. The halal industry, in particular, is a rapidly growing sector for both Indonesia and Malaysia, countries with large Muslim populations, and holds significant importance in enhancing their competitiveness in the international market.
