Chinese national, Filipina arrested for selling counterfeit seasonings in Bacolod

A 64-year-old Chinese national and a 32-year-old Filipino woman were arrested in Bacolod City for allegedly selling counterfeit seasoning products. The two suspects were apprehended during an entrapment operation along the Economic Highway in Barangay Mansilingan on Wednesday afternoon. The operation, led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Bacolod Field Unit, ran from 3:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. Authorities seized alleged counterfeit seasoning products worth approximately P470,400. These are believed to include various brands of seasonings. This arrest is part of the ongoing efforts by authorities to protect consumers from counterfeit goods and maintain fair market competition. The sale of counterfeit products not only poses risks to consumer health but can also negatively impact the economic activities of legitimate businesses.
