Son sends letter to interim President Min Aung Hlaing seeking to meet mother Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is under arrest and detention

Kim Aris (Ko Htin Lin) said he sent a letter to interim President Min Aung Hlaing through the Myanmar Embassy in London, seeking to meet his mother, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who has been detained for over 2,000 days. Ko Htin Lin stated that although he was able to confirm his mother was alive when she met with an ICRC (International Committee of the Red Cross) representative, he has not yet been able to meet or speak with his mother as a son, and is requesting a meeting. "Please allow me to meet my mother. Please allow me to speak with my mother. Please release my mother," Ko Htin Lin said. He further stated that he has been calling for his mother's release since he was young, and even after decades have passed, he is still calling for it. The "Proof of Life" campaign, which demands proof that State Counsellor and People's Leader Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, who is being unjustly arrested and detained, is alive and well, was launched in April of this year. The interim government has only released information about Daw Aung San Suu Kyi's court proceedings, house arrest, and meetings with the ICRC over the past five years. Photo – Kim Aris
