Svay Rieng Province Joint Forces Conduct Open Administration in Bavet City to Crack Down on Online Scams and Illegal Stays

On July 22, 2026, Mr. Men Eng, Deputy Governor of Svay Rieng Province, led joint forces and the Bavet City Unity Command in conducting an open administrative inspection in the Bavet City area. This operation, involving the Deputy Governor of Bavet City, security forces, and numerous relevant officials, aims to crack down on illegal stays and work, as well as suspected involvement in online scams. The activities were undertaken with two primary objectives: 1. To crack down on and prevent foreigners or individuals residing and working illegally. 2. To investigate and identify suspected locations involved in online scam activities. The Svay Rieng provincial authorities emphasized that this open administrative inspection is part of the government's 'Safe Village-Commune-District' policy, aimed at tightening controls to prevent the misuse of local areas for illegal activities and to deter all types of crimes. Provincial authorities have pledged to further strengthen the management of resident and foreign stay regulations, ensuring more effective control. They also committed to taking the strictest legal measures against any activities that cause insecurity and disrupt national order.
