Battambang Fruit Festival Concludes Successfully, Boosting Agriculture and Tourism

The "Battambang Fruit Festival 2026," held from July 10th to 19th, 2026, in Battambang province, western Cambodia, concluded successfully on July 19th with a closing ceremony attended by Provincial Council Chairman Ouk Ry and Governor Sok Lu. According to Chim Vachira, Director of the Provincial Department of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries, the 10-day event featured 36 farm owners setting up 57 booths to sell their produce, a nearly threefold increase compared to 2025. A wide variety of fruits, including durian, coconuts, rambutan, lychee, avocado, pineapple, and citrus, totaling tens of tons, were sold briskly. Governor Sok Lu expressed gratitude to the organizing team and armed forces for ensuring the event's security, order, and success. He encouraged farmers to expand cultivation according to agricultural technical standards, enhance product quality, and protect the "Battambang product identity" to gain further market support. The festival was initiated to promote the province's agricultural sector, publicize its quality fruits, increase market opportunities for farmers, and boost tourism, economy, and culture within Battambang. Held at and around the Provincial History Museum, the event served as a vital platform for showcasing agricultural potential and local products, contributing to the enhancement of local product value and economic growth.
