Cambodian National Police Chief Meets FBI Director, Discusses Enhanced Security Cooperation with US
On July 22, 2026, General Sar Thet, Commissioner General of the National Police of Cambodia, met with Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), who is visiting Cambodia. Both sides discussed enhancing security cooperation between Cambodia and the United States. Director Patel also met with Prime Minister Hun Manet, expressing intent to further strengthen expert-level collaboration.
On the morning of July 22, 2026, General Sar Thet, Commissioner General of the National Police of Cambodia, received Mr. Kash Patel, Director of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), at the Ministry of Interior for a working meeting. Mr. Patel is visiting Cambodia to conduct several tasks related to security between Cambodia and the United States. In connection with this visit, on the morning of July 22, 2026, Prime Minister Hun Manet granted Mr. Patel an audience for a courtesy call and to discuss several matters related to security between Cambodia and the United States. During his visit, the FBI Director will also meet with several relevant Cambodian expert officials to strengthen security cooperation between Cambodia and the United States. This meeting is part of the long-standing security cooperation between Cambodia and the United States. As transnational threats such as international organized crime and cybercrime continue to grow, information sharing and investigative cooperation between the two countries are becoming increasingly important. The visit of the FBI Director to Cambodia is expected to serve as an opportunity to further solidify this cooperative framework.
