China's Ambassador Praises Cambodian Government's Leadership in Resolving Thai Border Dispute Refugee Issue

Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, Wang Wenbin, has expressed his firm belief in the leadership of the Cambodian government, led by Prime Minister Hun Sen and Prime Minister Hun Manet, in resolving refugee issues and other problems arising from border conflicts with Thailand. On the morning of August 3, 2026, Ambassador Wang Wenbin, accompanied by HE Kim Rithy, Governor of Preah Vihear Province, visited and distributed aid to displaced persons in Preah Vihear Province. This marks the second time the ambassador has visited and delivered aid from the Chinese government and people to refugees displaced by Thailand's alleged invasion of Cambodian sovereign territory. "I wish to inform you that hardship is temporary. The Khmer people are a great nation with sufficient determination and capacity to overcome all difficulties and challenges. We hope that under the benevolent shade of His Majesty the King and the leadership of Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Cambodia will maintain its active trend of economic development in peace," the ambassador stated. According to the ambassador, the Chinese side will continue to support the Cambodian government and provide assistance as much as possible to resolve the refugee issue, aiming to improve their living conditions.
