Foreign Nationals Arrested in Bali for Prostitution Ring, High-Value Transactions Alleged

Thirteen foreign nationals have been arrested in Badung, Bali, in a joint operation targeting prostitution rings. The individuals were reportedly offering their services for rates ranging from 800 to 1,100 Australian dollars per hour, equivalent to approximately Rp10 million to Rp13 million. Authorities suspect the involvement of human trafficking, with Russian and Ukrainian nationals, identified by the initials IP and OG respectively, being investigated for alleged criminal acts of sexual exploitation or human trafficking (TPPO). Raja Ulul Azmi Syahwali, Head of Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, revealed these findings during a press conference alongside the Bali Regional Police. Law enforcement is actively tracing recruitment patterns and the communication channels used to offer these services. The arrests took place in three tourist and rental accommodation areas: Seminyak in Kuta District, Umalas, and Canggu in Kuta Utara District, Badung Regency. In total, 13 individuals were apprehended, consisting of 12 women and one man from various countries. According to Raja Ulul, the perpetrators utilized websites and chat applications to offer their services. The clientele primarily consists of other foreign nationals, with meeting arrangements being coordinated through provided communication channels. Identified modus operandi varied. For workers from Nigeria, transactions were conducted individually without intermediaries, with payments made directly at the meeting location, as explained by officials. Conversely, the police uncovered evidence suggesting the existence of a network controller who managed the flow of service transactions. The alleged criminal acts of sexual exploitation or human trafficking are directed towards IP and OG after investigators gathered preliminary evidence and examined witnesses.
