Cambodia: Vocational Training Equips Nearly 4,000 Youth and Citizens with Skills and Decent Income

The Techo Sen Svay Rieng Regional Polytechnic Institute, located in Svay Rieng province, is actively engaged in equipping youth and citizens from impoverished backgrounds with valuable vocational skills, thereby enhancing their employability and income potential. This educational initiative is conducted under the auspices of the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training. Statistics released by the institute indicate that from November 2023 up to July 20, 2026, a cumulative figure of 3,603 individuals have benefited from vocational training scholarships under the "1.5 Million Scholarship" initiative. A significant portion of these beneficiaries, numbering 1,549, originate from disadvantaged and vulnerable households. Looking ahead, the institute has scheduled the commencement of seven new training courses for the month of August. These courses are strategically designed to impart critical skills in areas such as electrical wiring installation for buildings, comprehensive computer services, specialized beauty treatments, men's hairstyling, residential air conditioning and refrigeration services, the processing of fruits and vegetables, and the installation of network cabling.
