Tour Bus Overturns After Collision With Tractor-Trailer in Dong Nai

On September 7, a tour bus overturned on National Highway 51 in Dong Nai province after colliding with a tractor-trailer. Fortunately, the four passengers and the driver on board the bus sustained no significant injuries. According to dashcam footage, the accident occurred on a multi-lane road. Both the tractor-trailer and the bus were traveling in the same direction. The incident unfolded as the tractor-trailer attempted to overtake, first moving left then right, while the bus simultaneously moved right then left. This maneuver led to both vehicles converging on the same lane, resulting in the tractor-trailer making contact with the rear of the bus. This collision caused the bus to lose control and overturn. Experts emphasize that on multi-lane roads, proper lane selection, maintaining safe distances, and being aware of surroundings during lane changes are crucial. In this instance, frequent lane changes created traffic conflict and heightened the risk of collision. The potential consequences would have been far more severe had the bus slid into a pedestrian or cyclist upon overturning.
