Cambodian Deputy PM Praises Top Students and Volunteer Teachers, Emphasizing Investment in Quality Education

On September 20, 2026, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Service, H.E. Hun Many, presided over a meeting in Kampong Speu province to express gratitude to volunteer teachers and congratulate students who achieved top 'Grade A' results. A total of 368 people attended the event. In a warm atmosphere, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many extended a heartfelt welcome and highly commended the sacrifices of the teachers who voluntarily dedicated their personal time to provide supplementary lessons. He highlighted that this dedication exemplifies a strong sense of responsibility in contributing to human resource development. The Deputy Prime Minister's presence served as a significant source of warmth and encouragement for local civil servants, motivating them to perform their duties with pride and dedication. He congratulated the students, emphasizing that their success is a fruit of the collective efforts of the teachers' regular instruction, including supplementary classes, combined with the students' own perseverance. Looking ahead, Deputy Prime Minister Hun Many urged all students that achieving 'Grade A' is merely the beginning of a new chapter. He stressed the importance for all young people to continue strengthening their capabilities, maintaining discipline, and preparing to acquire skills at the higher education level. The Deputy Prime Minister added that in the current global context, the job market demands human resources with general knowledge, professional skills, foreign languages, technology proficiency, and practical, real-world application abilities. It is recalled that in the recent high school graduation examinations, Kampong Speu province had a total of 6,036 candidates, with 5,222 passing (86.51%). Among the 31 students who achieved 'Grade A' (22 female), their origins were: 15 from Chbar Mon district, 7 from Oudong Meanchey district, 3 from Baset district, 2 from Samaki Munychey district, 2 from Samrong Tong district, 1 from Phnom Sruoch district, and 1 from Kong Pisei district. Notably, among the 'Grade A' students were two young orphaned girls, a testament to their resilience and determination to overcome obstacles for success in life.
