Phnom Penh: Hairdresser Found Dead, Allegedly Murdered by Boyfriend

Phnom Penh: A 34-year-old hairdresser was found dead in her home in Phnom Penh's Kumpoul district, with authorities suspecting her boyfriend of committing the murder and subsequently stealing her jewelry and motorcycle. The incident was discovered around noon on September 7th at the victim's residence in Lotto Chan Sovann, Kumpoul village, Kumpoul commune. The victim, identified as Prak Malis, operated a salon from her home. Her mother discovered the body in the loft room. Upon arriving at her daughter's house, the mother found the door locked and used her own key to gain entry, leading to the shocking discovery of her daughter's naked body. Law enforcement officials are investigating the victim's boyfriend as the primary suspect. Reports indicate the victim was a widow with a daughter who resided with her grandmother. She had reportedly been in a romantic relationship with the suspect for over a year, and they were believed to have spent the night together at the residence prior to the discovery of the body. Initial police findings suggest the victim may have been suffocated with a pillow and strangled. Following the alleged murder, the perpetrator is believed to have absconded with the victim's jewelry and a Honda Click motorcycle. Specialized police units are actively engaged in collecting evidence and identifying the suspect to bring them to justice.
