Authorities and rescue teams have recovered the body of a fisherman who fell overboard and went missing in the waters off Koh Sdach, Kiri Sakor district, Koh Kong province. The victim has been identified as Suon Sokneng, a 20-year-old Cambodian male residing in Village 1, Tum Nub Rolok Commune, Stung Hav District, Preah Sihanouk Province. According to Colonel Prom Vannakny, Chief of the Kiri Sakor District Police, the incident occurred on July 3rd. The victim's father and boat owner, Lat Buch, 45, explained that while the fishing boat was hauling its nets, Suon Sokneng noticed a plastic jerrycan floating on the sea surface. He approached the edge of the boat to grab it but lost his footing and fell into the sea. As the victim could not swim, he subsequently sank and disappeared. Following his disappearance, relevant authorities launched a search and rescue operation. His body was found on July 3rd and has since been handed over to his family for traditional funeral rites.
