Green Library and Scholarships Donated to Needy Students in Phu Tho

In Hy Cuong Commune, Phu Tho Province, the Vietnam Child Protection Fund (under the Ministry of Health), in coordination with the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank), organized a program to donate a "Green Library: Sharing Knowledge - Building a Future" and "Stepping Forward Together" scholarships to students facing difficult circumstances. The event, coinciding with the start of the new academic year 2026-2027, involved a total investment of VND 300 billion. The "Green Library" program, with an investment of VND 200 billion, is equipped with 10 tablet computers pre-loaded with a digital library, e-books, and learning software. It also includes two sets of English reading and learning pens and 200 paper books. This initiative aims to create a modern learning space, enabling local students to proactively access knowledge, cultivate reading habits, and nurture their passion for learning. Concurrently, 100 "Stepping Forward Together" scholarships, each valued at VND 1 million, were awarded to underprivileged students of Hy Cuong Primary and Secondary School. These scholarships serve as practical encouragement, providing students with better conditions to study and motivating them to overcome difficulties and excel academically. The "Green Library - Sharing Knowledge, Building a Future" program is part of the national walk "Together with Vietnam - 10 Billion Green Steps for a Sustainable Vietnam," organized by the Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with the Ministry of National Defence, the Ministry of Public Security, and the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee. This activity commemorates the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution, the 81st anniversary of the People's Public Security Force (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026), and the 81st anniversary of Vietnam's National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026). Launched, the "Together with Vietnam" program attracted nearly 1.8 million participants, registering over 10 billion steps nationwide. The opening ceremony was held simultaneously in 34 provinces and cities across the country, building on the success of the "Together with Vietnam" walk held in 2025. The second season of "Together with Vietnam" walk in 2026 was organized on a larger scale, with the participation of many agencies and support from people nationwide. The "Together with Vietnam 2026" program recorded 1,774,268 participants, contributing over 10 billion steps in 34 provinces and cities and nearly 3,000 communes, wards, and administrative districts. Guinness World Records officially announced that "Together with Vietnam 2026" set a Guinness World Record for the "Largest number of localities simultaneously organizing a walking activity to raise environmental awareness." The Vietnam Child Protection Fund and Vietcombank are partners of the "Together with Vietnam" walk, calling for the joint participation of agencies, businesses, organizations, and domestic and international benefactors. The aim is to support and empower students facing difficult circumstances to overcome challenges in their studies. As a result, Vietcombank has contributed resources and mobilized its staff and customers to support the "Stepping Forward Together" account of the Vietnam Child Protection Fund, thereby contributing to the awarding of 7,000 scholarships to underprivileged students nationwide on the occasion of the new academic year 2026-2027.
