Discussion on Registration of Myanmar Migrant Workers in Thailand

Discussions were held between Myanmar and Thai officials regarding the registration of Myanmar migrant workers residing in Thailand, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Ambassador of Myanmar to Thailand, U Zaw Zaw Soe, discussed this matter during his meeting with the Thai Minister of Labour at the Ministry of Labour on September 16. During the meeting, it was reported that following the visit of the President of the Republic to Thailand, discussions were held in a friendly and reciprocal manner between the labour ministries and relevant organizations of both countries on the registration of Myanmar migrant workers in Thailand, matters concerning legal remittances by overseas workers, legal employment and skills enhancement, more effective labour management, and the rights of Myanmar migrant workers.
