Cambodia Encourages Female 'Kralan' Vendors to Enhance Quality and Hygiene

Kampong Thom, Cambodia – July 19, 2026 – Senator Khun Khunty met with female vendors of the traditional Cambodian snack 'Kralan' in Intakomar village, Kampong Svay commune, Kampong Svay district, Kampong Thom province. During the gathering, Senator Khunty encouraged the vendors to focus on enhancing the quality and flavor of their products, ensuring stringent hygiene in both production and packaging. This initiative aims to build greater customer trust and elevate the value of traditional Cambodian products. Senator Khunty conveyed the warm regards and high attention from Samdech Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, and Samdech Kittiprittbandit Bun Rany Hun Sen, along with the leadership of the Senate, to the local residents and the female 'Kralan' vendors. "'Kralan' is a valuable traditional product that not only preserves our national cultural identity but also serves as a significant source of income for the local population," Senator Khunty stated. She urged the vendors to consistently maintain delicious, standardized quality, utilize high-quality ingredients, and pay close attention to hygiene throughout the production and sales process to ensure food safety and foster customer confidence. Furthermore, Senator Khunty encouraged the women entrepreneurs to continuously develop their skills, improve packaging, and expand product promotion to broaden market opportunities, increase household income, and contribute to the growth of the local economy.
