ASEAN Media Professionals Visit China's Advanced Broadcast Facilities, Implications for Cambodian Media Development

As part of the training program "New Media to Promote High-Quality Industrial Development for ASEAN Countries" (September 15-28, 2026) held in Beijing, China, participants undertook an educational visit on September 17, 2026, to the Central TV Tower, a modern broadcasting and technology facility in the capital, and subsequently to Huafeng Film & Television Group. The training program is sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of China, guided by the National Radio and Television Administration of China (NRTA), and organized by China Broadcasting International Economic and Technical Cooperation Co., Ltd. (CBIC). The Central TV Tower, standing at 405 meters, is the tallest structure in Beijing and is classified as a 4A-level tourist attraction. Constructed in the 1990s, this historic edifice serves as a cutting-edge technology hub for national radio and television broadcasting. It also features an observation deck at a height of 238 meters, offering a bird's-eye view of the entire city of Beijing and significant historical sites such as the Summer Palace and Yu-Yuan Pool. Through on-site inspections and in-depth study of Huafeng Film & Television Group's production chain, participants gained a profound understanding of advanced broadcasting technology development, studio organization, and the installation of high-end digital equipment. This visit provided practical experience to supplement theoretical classroom learning, preparing participants for the upcoming International Short Video Contest 2026 and for their own short video production assignments during the training.
