Car exceeding speed limit crashes into electric pole in Tachilek

Mekong, July 23 It has been learned from local residents that a car, driving at excessive speed, crashed into an electric pole in Tachilek city, eastern Shan State. The traffic accident occurred around 10 AM on July 23, near the Bright Star Future kindergarten, along the section of the No. 4 highway connecting Tachilek and Kengtung, within Mae Hout village, Fan Min village tract, Tachilek city, resulting in the breakage of an electric pole. "The driver has been taken away. I think they will have to pay for the electric pole," said an eyewitness. The City Electricity Supply Management Committee (Electricity Distribution Enterprise) has announced that temporary power outages will occur due to this traffic accident. As new electric poles will be replaced and installed, and maintenance work will be carried out, power will be shut off from 11:30 AM to 2 PM. During the work, temporary power outages will occur in Fan Min village tract, Wan Long village tract, the Military Command area, San Sai (Kha) ward, Wan Kaw ward, Maka Ho Kham ward, Ta Loke ward, Pon Htun ward, and Lue Taw Kham village tract. Traffic accidents due to non-compliance with traffic and road regulations occur frequently in Tachilek. On June 20, a traffic accident occurred on the highway connecting Kengtung and Tachilek, near Hwe Khoy village, Wan Long village tract, Tachilek Township, resulting in the death of one woman.
