Indonesia Blocks 1,274 Vehicle QR Codes for Subsidized Fuel Misuse

PANGKALPINANG - Pertamina Patra Niaga has blocked the QR code for subsidized fuel purchases belonging to 1,274 vehicles in Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This measure is part of enhanced surveillance to ensure the targeted distribution of subsidized fuel. According to Rusminto Wahyudi, Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR of Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagsel, the blocking was carried out based on monitoring and verification results up to September 2026. "This blocking is part of the surveillance step to maintain the distribution of subsidized fuel so that it is targeted," he stated. The 1,274 vehicle police numbers in Bangka Belitung were blocked from accessing subsidized fuel purchases due to indications of repeated transactions that were not in accordance with provisions. This issue is not confined to Bangka Belitung, as similar blocking actions have been implemented in other provinces within the Southern Sumatra region. Pertamina recorded 2,793 police numbers blocked in Lampung, 2,349 in South Sumatra, 1,117 in Jambi, and 966 in Bengkulu. Pertamina stated that it continues to strengthen supervision in the distribution of subsidized fuel in collaboration with relevant parties to ensure that subsidized products are received by eligible individuals in accordance with applicable regulations. The inspection not only targets purchase transactions but also the appropriateness of vehicle data used in the Accurate Subsidy Program. The company reminded the public not to misuse the QR code or other transaction facilities to obtain subsidized fuel.
