VTV Secures Exclusive Rights to 2026 Asian Games

Vietnam's national broadcaster VTV has secured the exclusive broadcasting rights for the 2026 Asian Games. This acquisition ensures that Vietnamese audiences will be able to follow the continental multi-sport event, which is considered the biggest of its kind in Asia. The Vietnamese delegation is set to participate with a contingent of nearly 500 members, aiming to secure at least four gold medals. Teams in sports such as shooting, karate, and sepak takraw carry high expectations, having previously won gold medals at ASIAD 19. The delegation will travel to Japan in separate groups according to their competition schedules. The securing of broadcasting rights by VTV is expected to boost domestic interest in sports and foster national enthusiasm. Sports promotion has been increasingly emphasized in Vietnam as a national objective. Localities across the country are expanding cultural spaces, promoting creativity, and linking heritage with tourism, aligning with the spirit of Politburo Resolution No. 80-NQ/TW on cultural development.
