Thailand to Develop 17.5 MW Solar Farm in Map Ta Phut; GULF and GPSC Establish Joint Venture

The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has established a joint venture named 'RENERGY' with GULF Energy Development and Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC) to construct a 17.5-megawatt solar farm in the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate. This initiative is expected to further promote the adoption of renewable energy in Thailand. The project underscores Thailand's commitment to energy security and sustainability, with a particular focus on expanding the use of clean energy within industrial zones. Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate, being one of Thailand's key industrial hubs with significant energy consumption, stands to benefit from solar power generation, which is anticipated to contribute to greenhouse gas emission reductions. GULF Energy Development is a leading power producer in Thailand, and GPSC, an electricity company under the PTT Group, has a track record in the renewable energy sector. The synergy of their expertise with IEAT's experience in industrial estate management is expected to drive the project's efficient implementation. Upon operation, this solar farm will enable businesses within the Map Ta Phut Industrial Estate to access electricity from a cleaner and more sustainable energy source.
