Cambodia Boosts EV Adoption Through Public-Private Partnership
Cambodia's Ministry of Environment discussed cooperation with Eco Energy EV Automotive Cambodia to promote clean energy vehicles. On August 4, 2026, H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth, Minister of Environment, met with Mr. Son Phirom, General Manager of Eco Energy EV Automotive Cambodia, to discuss cooperation in promoting the use of clean energy transportation in Cambodia. During the meeting, Mr. Son Phirom presented detailed technical specifications, capabilities, and benefits of the pure electric pickup truck brand Rely EV. He stated that this vehicle is a significant option for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and environmental pollution, and presented opportunities for cooperation with the Ministry of Environment to further expand the use of clean energy vehicles nationwide. In response, H.E. the Minister warmly welcomed the investment and introduction of electric vehicle technology to Cambodia. H.E. Dr. Eang Sophalleth emphasized that promoting the use of clean energy vehicles aligns with the Cambodian government's policy to reduce environmental pollution, curb greenhouse gas emissions, and foster sustainable development for a green environment and the well-being of its citizens.
